Wasps of Washington

What is it?

Wasps of Washington is desigened to give eclusive data about wasp taxonamy and behavior speficifc to WA. For genreal infromation on a spefic wasp, a link to iNatrualist is provided with every species page. This Platform is also a catalyst to forming the first ever Washtington Wasp Atlas.

How to use it?

The platform is mainly divided up into Genus and speices. But occasionally, it is divided into more groups. Common and Scientific names are used. Also with each species page, some taxanomic keys will be available so you can determine what species you want to identify.

Social Wasps - Has a worker cast; division of labor

Yellow Jackets, Hornets and sometimes other (normally solitary species) within wasp families can display this function

Semi-Social Wasps - Organized individuals working together

Paper Wasps, Hover Wasps, and a number of other select species.

Solitary Wasps, which includes a lot. Mud Daubers, Spider Wasps, Pollen Wasps, Potter Wasps, Horntails etc.
